HISTORY: 

The king Jaime II the Just person, grants in 1323 Gandia's dominion to his son the infante Pere. Alfonso Old, son of the previous one, inherits later this dominion (1359) and raises it to the category of Royal Duchy in 1399. He is Alfonso the Vell, who begins the construction of the palace.
