"ALL YOU NEED IS GANDIA"

History: The ‘Escuelas Pias’ building was, in the past, the old university of Gandia. In 1549 the duque ‘Francisco de Borja’ made it and in a few years, he donated it to the ‘Compañía de Jesús’.

In 1767, the ‘jesuitas’ were expelled of the hispanic territory and it provoked the dissapearence of this university and it became a deserted building and to done it some use, they try to made it a ‘House of Mercy’ and they built fifty familiar bedrooms for poor families, but then, they can’t use it.

In 1806, it form part to the ‘Escolapios’ that made a school in this building.
