HISTORIA:

El tren Alcoi-Gandia va ser una línia en funcionament des de 1892 fins a 1969. També va ser conegut pels valencians, com la Txitxarra, pel soroll que feia quan estava en marxa. La companyia de ferrocarril explotadora de la línia Alcoi al port de Gandia va ser fundada el 1882 amb el nom Alcoy and Gandia Railway and Harbour Company Limited.

 

Els treballs de construcció de la línia, que van durar al voltant de dos anys van ser dirigits per la companyia anglesa Lucien Ravel and Company. El viatge inaugural va tindre lloc el 18 de juliol de 1892. Va funcionar des del 24 de gener de 1893. El 1965 va passar a dependre dels Ferrocarrils Espanyols de Via Estreta (FEVE) fins al 15 d'abril de 1969 en la qual circulà l'últim tren.

 

 

 

HISTORY:

Alcoy-Gandia train line was in operation from 1892 until 1969. He was also known for Valencia, as Txitxarra, the noise made when it was launched. The railway company exploiting the line Alcoy the port of Gandia was founded in 1882 with the name Alcoy and Gandia Railway and Harbour Company Limited.

 

The construction of the line, which lasted about two years were directed by the English company Lucien Ravel and Company. The maiden voyage took place on 18 July 1892. He worked from 24 January 1893. In 1965 became part of the Spanish Railways gauge (LVEF) until 15 April 1969 in which circulate the last train.

ACTUALMENT:

Es conserven algunes estacions del recorregut, com les de Gandia, Almoines, Beniarjó o l'Orxa. A la d'Almoines existix un museu sobre la línia, gestionat per l'Associació d'amics del ferrocarril, l'Associació Tren Alcoi-Gandia. Pasava per 12 estacions i al principi el principal objectiu era transportar carbó però després va canviar a transportar mercancia, gent...

CURRENTLY:

Conserve some stations of the route, like Gandia, alms or Beniarjó o l'Orxa. The alms exists a museum on the line, managed by the Association of Friends of the railway, the Association Ferrocarril Alcoy Gandia. It crossed 12 stations and at first the main objective was to transport coal but later changed to transport merchandise, people...
